Using the calculator

Use the result as a clear starting point for checking an offer.

Check the underlying figures

The calculator estimates costs from the entries supplied. It does not verify provider statements, contract terms or eligibility for a quoted price. Before making a decision, confirm the full charges and obligations with the relevant provider.

Choose the right time period

The main calculator repeats a representative month. If activity varies through the year, use the separate seasonal calculator for twelve individual months. Label estimates, use the same cost scope and VAT basis, and count annual and one-off charges only once.

Understand the comparison

A lower calculated cost does not assess service quality, reliability, features, integrations or suitability for your business. This tool does not recommend a provider or compare the whole market.

Include the cost of changing

Check equipment leases, notice periods, remaining commitments, setup charges and training. Enter future one-off costs in the relevant fields. Costs you have already paid are not future switching costs.

Keep your own record

Entries are held in the open page and are not saved by the calculator after a reload. Download your report or checklist before leaving. Reports include the method, assumptions and any missing figures.

Examples and pricing references

“Try an example” uses fictional figures. Editing an example does not verify the remaining figures. Published pricing links provide context and can change; they are not complete quotations or confirmation that a price applies to you.

Free initial reviews

A free initial review can help explain charges and identify questions for your provider. It is based on the information you supply and does not verify quotations or guarantee savings.

If a paid service is introduced later, its scope and price will be agreed before any paid work starts.

These conditions cover the calculator and free initial review. Any future paid review or introduction service will have its scope, price and terms explained before you agree to it.
